About H.E.R.

Born in 1997, Gabi Wilson took the world by storm before hitting double digits. She was named California’s Most Talented Kid when she was eight. At nine, the phenom opened for Tony! Toni! Tone! and Keyshia Cole, and she appeared in the Nickelodeon film School Gyrls with Justin Bieber and Soulja Boy. The following year, she was showcasing her talents on major network talk shows.

In 2009, Wilson competed in season two of Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing with an original song aptly named “My Music,” and in 2011, she was signed by Sony’s RCA Records. Her first studio single, “Something To Prove,” incorporated samples from The Isley Brothers, Detroit Emeralds, and Bob James, exhibiting musical tastes that belied her years.

However, she soon backed away from the spotlight, taking time to graduate from high school, mature, and develop her style and sound. The 2016 release of the H.E.R. Vol. 1 EP officially marked her transition from a child star to a professional musician. It also introduced Wilson’s new artistic identity, her stage name a backronym for “Having Everything Revealed.”

H.E.R.'s eponymous album in 2017 and Back of My Mind in 2021 climbed the Billboard album charts, while collaborations with YG, Jhene Aiko, Usher, Chris Brown, Ed Sheeran, Mary J. Blige, and others cemented her reputation as an artist in demand. Her growing list of accolades already includes multiple Grammy Awards, Children's and Family Emmy Awards, and an Academy Award.

Looking forward, H.E.R. is poised to continue her ascent, with her unique blend of classical R&B influences and contemporary sounds paving the way for further innovation. Her commitment to emotional transparency and vulnerability in her music promises a rich future discography that will undoubtedly continue to captivate and inspire audiences.
