About Dan + Shay

Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, better known as Dan + Shay, have made their mark on both country and pop music. Smyers hailed from Pennsylvania and Mooney from Arkansas, but the two joined forces in Nashville after meeting at a party in 2012. They dove head-first into writing music and were signed by Warner/Chappell Music, releasing their debut album, Where It All Began, in the spring of 2014.

After opening for Hunter Hayes and Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay embarked on a 10-day solo tour in October. Following a few more trips across the U.S. and hours in the studio, they released Obsessed in 2016. "How Not To," the album’s third single, reached number one on the Country Airplay chart. Now a recognizable name in music with a few singles in rotation, things were picking up.
