About Celtic Thunder
Celtic Thunder, the world-renowned Irish men’s singing ensemble and traveling band, was formed in 2007 by producer Sharon Browne. They quickly captured international attention with Celtic Thunder: The Show, released in 2008, which was recorded at The Helix in Dublin and introduced their blend of traditional Celtic music, pop classics, and contemporary selections. From timeless ballads like "Mountains of Mourne" to popular hits such as Paul Anka's "Puppy Love," they offer something for every music lover.
In addition to live CDs, DVDs, and special compilations, their extensive discography now includes over 15 studio albums. Hailed as Billboard’s “Top World Music Artist,” Celtic Thunder has enjoyed significant commercial success, with their self-entitled debut, Act Two (2008), Take Me Home (2009), and other offerings appearing at the top of the Billboard World Albums chart. The group’s YouTube channel, known as “Thunder Tube,” has amassed hundreds of millions of views and subscribers.
Although the lineup has changed over the years, additions like Damian McGinty, winner of The Glee Project, have only added to their rich sound. Backed by the Celtic Thunder Band, their performances are elaborate productions, renowned for their elaborate stage setups and dramatic lighting effects. Special themed shows have included Mythology, Holiday Symphony, and It's Entertainment. With each new endeavor, they continue to celebrate and elevate the music of their heritage.
