Run Baby Run Arena

The Peacocks men’s and women’s basketball teams play at the Run Baby Run Arena, housed in the Victor R. Yanitelli, S.J. Recreational Life Center at Saint Peter's University in Jersey City. This multifaceted venue opened in 1975 and welcomes up to 3,200 guests at basketball games, volleyball matches, swim meets, and more. 

The Recreational Life Center (RLC) was named in honor of the longest-serving president in the school’s history, but it’s often referred to as “The Bubble” due to its distinctive dome. The arena’s unique name was selected to pay homage to the 1968 men’s basketball team, who shocked the world in the National Invitation Tournament by triumphantly defeating Duke in the quarterfinals. 

Tom MacMahon was a starting guard on that storied team, and as an athletic program booster, he spearheaded a major renovation of the building in 2021. Some of the most notable features of the facility include retractable bleachers, state-of-the-art scoreboards, enhanced lighting, and an Olympic-sized pool. Several members of the ‘68 squad showed up for the unveiling of the completed project in 2022.
