About Crosses

In 2011, Shaun Lopez, former guitarist of the defunct metalcore band Far, and bass player Chuck Doom started making music together. When they added Lopez’s friend and neighbor, Deftones frontman Chino Moreno, it became a full-fledged side project.

The trio, adopting the name ††† (Crosses), drew inspiration from a variety of sources, including the electronic, trip-hop, and alternative rock genres. This eclectic mix of influences is evident in their unique sound, which blends electronic aesthetics with the energy of rock.

Their initial EPs and a self-titled album, released between 2011 and 2014, were praised for their innovative sound, which Moreno once referred to as “the stuff I like listening to when I'm not screaming my head off.” This atmospheric soundscape helped Crosses develop a distinct presence in the industry.

However, friction between Lopez and Doom brought the creative process to a near halt for several years. Perhaps a 2020 cover of Cause and Effect’s “The Beginning of the End” was more prophetic than the band had let on. Nevertheless, without their original bassist, Lopez and Moreno chose to persevere.

After a handful of singles, an EP, and a few noticeable label changes, the duo dropped their second full-length album in October of 2023. Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete. has been lauded by critics and fans alike. With several shows on tap, fans are eager to see what else Crosses has in store.
