About The Greeting Committee
Back in 2014, vocalist Addie Sartino, guitarist Brandon Yangmi, bassist Pierce Turcotte, and drummer Austin Fraser were teens in Overland Park, Kansas, performing in the Blue Valley High School talent show. Less than a year later, the trajectory of their lives took a sharp turn upward when Lazlo Geiger, a Kansas City radio DJ, played "Hands Down," a song from their self-released debut EP, It's Not All That Bad.
The airplay on KRBZ propelled them into the spotlight, significantly broadening their audience. Their lyrics resonated with their peers, and their ability to translate emotions into music garnered the group critical acclaim. They began booking local gigs, but it wasn’t long before they signed with Harvest Records and found themselves fielding invites to join the lineups of prestigious music festivals.
The band solidified their status with two full-length albums, This Is It and Dandelion. As they achieved worldwide fame, they continued to engage with followers on social media, creating a welcoming community for their fans. T.G.C. became known for their advocacy, particularly in support of human rights, particularly with the release of their single "Ada," celebrated as an LGBTQ+ anthem.
Over a decade has passed since the band’s formation, and despite the departure of founding members Austin Fraser and Brandon Yangmi, Addie Sartino and Pierce Turcotte have pressed on. With the release of Everybody's Gone And I Know I'm The Cause, The Greeting Committee promises a continual evolution that extends to their thematic depth, studio sound, and live shows. Catch them in concert when you can!
