Nationals Park
Nationals Park, located in the Navy Yard district of Washington, D.C., has been lauded for its sleek design and stunning views of the Capitol and the Anacostia River. Up to 41,339 spectators attend each game, eager to enjoy everything the venue has to offer.
Happy hours draw in the drinking crowds, and the Kids Zone appeals to families with children under ten. Each Sunday, two players are available to sign autographs, and fans between the ages of 4 and 12 get to run the bases following afternoon games.
One of the most beloved traditions is the Presidents’ Race! Just as the Brewers have their famous Sausage Race in the sixth inning, Nats fans get to watch George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt fight their way to the finish line in the fourth.

Memorable Washington Nationals Moments
Seeing your team play on a field right in front of you is exhilarating! When you attend a Washington Nationals baseball game, you get to see details you can’t catch through a screen and feel the vibration with every roar of the crowd. You might even witness history in the making! These are some of the greatest moments ticket holders have been lucky enough to witness:
-
Outstanding Opener (03/30/2008): In the bottom of the ninth of the inaugural game at Nationals Park, the Nats were locked in a tie with the Braves when Ryan Zimmerman came to the plate. He launched a long drive deep into right-center field—a home run that made him one of the few players in history to hit a game-winning walk-off homer in the first game at a Major League park.
-
Werth’s Walk-Off (10/11/2012): The Nationals were trailing two games to one in the National League Division Series against the Cardinals. The score was tied 1–1 in the bottom of the ninth, and Jayson Werth was down to his last strike when he got a fastball right down the middle. He knocked that ball straight into the outfield bullpen, forcing game five and igniting a celebration!
-
Nats’ First No-Hitter (09/28/2014): The Nationals were ahead of the Marlins 1–0 in the bottom of the ninth. Jordan Zimmerman was one out away from pitching the first no-hitter in franchise history when Christian Yelich jumped on a fastball and hit it straight toward the gap in left-center field. Steven Souza Jr. managed to make an incredible catch to save the no-hitter and the game.
-
Strikeout Sensation (05/11/2016): Only a few pitchers have been able to strike out 20 batters in nine innings, and Max Scherzer is one of them. In fact, he accomplished this rare feat against his former team! His performance against the Detroit Tigers set a Nationals franchise record and put him in the history books alongside Roger Clemens, Randy Johnson, and Kerry Wood.
-
World Series Win (10/30/2019): In the 40th World Series to require seven games, the Nationals and the Astros took the field, knowing that just one more meeting would decide their fates. Houston took an early 2–0 lead, but Washington fought back, scoring three in the seventh, one in the eighth, and another two in the ninth to capture the team’s first championship title.
