The History of Buffalo Bills Football
The Buffalo Bills have seen their share of ups and downs, but their fans' unwavering dedication remains a constant. The team was established in 1960, and from the beginning, the Bills represented the heart and soul of Buffalo, New York.
Led by legendary head coach Lou Saban, the team reached its first AFL Championship Game in 1964. Although they fell short, it was a sign of their early promise. They returned to the championship game in 1965 and 1966, claiming the title in the latter, and it marked a turning point in franchise history.
The ‘90s were a defining era for the Bills, featuring the iconic quarterback-receiver duo of Jim Kelly and Andre Reed. The team clinched numerous AFC titles and made four consecutive Super Bowl appearances from 1990 to 1993, an unprecedented feat.
Although they didn't manage to snag a Super Bowl victory during any of those remarkable runs, their legacy endures. Today, the Bills are poised for a new era of success. With the help of the Bills Mafia, it’s going to be an exciting ride.
Be a part of it! Buy your Buffalo Bills tickets now so you can cheer on the team as they aim to bring a championship back to Buffalo.

Rivalries add spice to any appearance, and the Bills have a long-standing grudge against the New England Patriots. This contentious relationship traces its roots back to the early 1960s when both teams were part of the AFL's Eastern Division. To this day, their intriguing battles of strategy and skill are highly anticipated by players and fans alike.
Of course, divisional bragging rights and playoff implications always heighten the intensity, so another clash people clamor for involves Miami. The Bills and the Dolphins have shared many classic showdowns, and they still never fail to get the adrenaline pumping.
Highmark Stadium Information & Parking
Highmark Stadium still stands as the longtime home of the Buffalo Bills. Located in Orchard Park, New York, this venue has hosted football fans since 1973. Over the years, it has gained a reputation as one of the most dynamic venues in the NFL. Here, over 71,000 attendees can embrace the elements thanks to the open-air design that perfectly suits the rugged spirit of the city.
The stadium features multiple concourses throughout its four levels, offering guests easy access to restrooms, concessions, and seating areas. As you hunt for your Bills tickets, be sure to use the seating charts we provide to help you find the ideal spot. For more details, we’ve included a brief overview below so you know what to expect in the various areas of the facility.
100 Level
The 100 Level has the closest vantage points—especially from sections 101-144. The Bills’ sideline is in front of sections 132–135, and sections 110–113 are behind the visitor’s sideline. Teams enter through a tunnel adjacent to section 122. End zone seating is highly desirable for fans who enjoy getting involved during scoring plays!
200 Level
Seats on the second level give spectators an elevated and comprehensive view of the field. Sections 209–213 feature unbeatable sightlines, and corner sections are angled well for wide perspectives.
The Buffalo Bills have reserved sections 225–227 as a “dry zone” intended for families. This alcohol-free area is situated behind the east side end zone and has great views of the field and the video board at the west end. Young children will be happier in the lower rows, but keep in mind the safety railing could obstruct their views.
Club Seating
With exclusive access to lounges, upscale dining, and cushy seating, fans can enjoy the game in style. The Bud Light Club is located on the northeast side of the 200 level, and it gives attendees access to a climate-controlled setting, exclusive dining menus, and in-seat service.
The M&T Bank Club includes 6–7 rows of oversized chairs with large windows and limited table seating toward the back. Ticket holders have access to an all-inclusive club lounge that features a full buffet, desserts, and a well-stocked bar.
Sideline club seats are in sections 206–216 on the north side and 229–238 on the south side. They include access to indoor club areas with exclusive concessions and private restrooms. Some Sideline Club spots are sheltered, but radiant heating has been installed to keep lucky Sideline Club members warm on cold winter days.
West End Suites are fully enclosed spaces under the video board behind the end zone. They include televisions and private restroom access. Catering is available, making these boxes extra popular with groups and those looking to book special events.
The Caesars Sportsbook Lounge is furnished with theater-style chairs positioned in front of huge glass windows overlooking the field from the northeast corner of the stadium above the Bud Light Club. The reception area, concession stands, and free space are nearby for any guest needs.
300 Level
The 300 Level provides excellent sightlines of the field. These mid-tier seats are an excellent choice for fans who want a good view of the game without the premium cost. Sections 301-347 offer various seating options.
Accessibility Options
ADA seating makes game day more comfortable for individuals with disabilities. Designated areas are equipped with companion seats and are dispersed throughout the building. They come with clear vantage points, additional legroom, wheelchair space, and easy access to amenities.
All gates are accessible, but for expedited entry, guests should utilize the Club & Suite Entry Lanes at Gates 2, 3, 6, and 7. Elevators are not for general public use, so an employee must accompany riders at all times. 50-yard-line elevators service the first and third-level concourses. Club elevators are used to access 300-level ADA seating for those with a valid ticket.
Parking & Alternative Transportation
Parking at Highmark Stadium can be challenging, so planning ahead is vital. GoTickets gives buyers the option to reserve parking when purchasing tickets, so they know they’ll have a spot waiting for them when they get to Buffalo. We highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity!
If you prefer alternative transportation, consider using the NFTA (Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority) Metro Rail. The nearest station, Erie County Medical Center, provides park-and-ride services, allowing you to leave your car and take the train to the venue.
For a unique trip to and from the stadium, consider taking a water taxi. Water taxi services operate on certain game days and give passengers a scenic ride on the Buffalo River. This option is especially popular with tourists who come to town to see their beloved Bills!
Bills Tailgating & Game Day Traditions
Tailgating is at the heart of Buffalo game day traditions. Partygoers gather early in the parking lots around Highmark Stadium, many of which have been used for multiple generations by families and friends who meet to celebrate their team.
One dedicated group of tailgaters even purchased a property they’ve renovated and decked out in Bills memorabilia and decor! The 12th Man Misfits Manor is located right down the street from the stadium, and Kurt Armstrong, who makes his full-time home in Florida, bought the house in the spring of 2023. He and his crew now host fans from opposing teams for pre-game festivities, offering them a home away from home.
The infamous “Pinto Ron” puts on a show at Hammer’s Lot, while others meet up at Mud Lot or in Tailgate Village. Wherever they choose to set up their tailgates, people arrive clad in their signature red, white, and blue gear. Grills get fired up to make classic tailgating fare and regional favorites, and attendees engage in good-natured games as they talk about their favorite plays from the past.
The camaraderie is powerful—so much so that groups have come together to support causes that go beyond sports. Many of these fans have become lifelong friends, and when one is in need, they’re all ready to help. They have raised money for several families, and after a sportscaster referred to them as “the laughingstock of the National Football League,” they responded by donating funds to the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
Before kickoff, everyone makes their way to Highmark Stadium and lines up along Abbott Road to greet the team buses as they arrive at the stadium. The Bills Stampede gives supporters a chance to cheer on their beloved Bills and get players pumped for the game ahead. Then, ticket holders head inside, where the energy is almost overwhelming!
During the game, if the opposing team is facing a third down, the unmistakable sound of a train horn tells spectators it’s time to get loud. And when the Bills score a touchdown, the crowd erupts in celebration as "Shout!" is played over the loudspeakers prompting what might be the noisiest sing-along anyone’s ever heard!
If you want your invitation to this epic experience, join the Bills Mafia! Purchase your Buffalo Bills tickets, and prepare for an unforgettable NFL game day.
