GoTickets is here to help you score those coveted Detroit Red Wings tickets this season. Our trusted seller network and user-friendly platform make it easy to put yourself in the stands for an epic NHL showdown. The only snag is that the best seats don’t stick around long, so grab them before they’re gone!

The History of Detroit Red Wings Hockey

Established in 1926 as the Detroit Cougars, this team has etched its name among the National Hockey League's elite. However, things haven’t always been rosy. The early years were marked by a period of adjustment and growth, with the Cougars struggling to find consistency.

A turning point came in 1930 when the team rebranded as the Detroit Falcons. A renewed commitment to winning proved to be just the catalyst needed for change. The Falcons quickly began to show signs of significant improvement.

Then, in 1932, the team became the Red Wings, and this distinctive moniker would forever become synonymous with hockey. It seemed to suit them! Their first Stanley Cup victory came in 1936, a momentous occasion that began decades of unprecedented dominance.

Throughout the 1940s, ‘50s, and ‘60s, the Red Wings established themselves as a perennial contender, capturing four championships during this golden era. Led by legendary players like Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman, and Nicklas Lidström, they captivated fans with their high-powered offense and stifling defense.

The success carried the squad into the 21st century. Stanley Cup wins in 1997, 1998, 2002, and 2008 solidified their position as one of the most decorated franchises in history. And today, the team boasts a talented roster that blends youth and experience. With resilience, determination, and an unwavering work ethic, they embody the spirit of Detroit.

The Red Wings Hockey Schedule

Before you buy your Red Wings tickets and start packing for a trip to the arena, you’ll need to analyze the official schedule and pinpoint the matchups most likely to exceed your expectations. Notable rivalries are usually deeply rooted in history and geographic proximity, yet there are lots of elements to consider when it comes to choosing a game.

Just across the border, you’ll find a top Atlantic Division competitor in Toronto. The first members of the NHL share a unique bond that fits the definition of the word “frenemies.” There is mutual admiration between them, but they also possess a deep desire to crush each other’s spirits. The Maple Leafs and the Red Wings are two of those “Original Six” clubs, which adds an extra layer of respect and animosity to encounters between them.

Elsewhere in the Eastern Conference, the Boston Bruins are a perennial contender. The Florida Panthers have emerged as a dominant force in recent years, and the Tampa Bay Lightning have established themselves as a dynasty. Witnessing a duel with any one of these opponents would be worthwhile.

Interconference play allows teams to test their mettle against opponents they don’t see as often and size up potential Stanley Cup competition. In the Western Conference, the Colorado Avalanche, Minnesota Wild, and Winnipeg Jets present a diverse range of challenges and often force Detroit to adapt their strategies.

Last but not least, we’d be remiss to not mention the Chicago Blackhawks. They’ve been battling it out with the ‘Wings for generations. Prior to the realignment of the league in 2013, they both played in the same conference, and the impact of each game was greater. Still, bragging rights are a powerful motivator. With cities less than 300 miles apart and fans who live and breathe by their hockey teams, even now, the meaning behind their meetings is immeasurable.

Little Caesars Arena Information

Attending a Red Wings game at Little Caesars Arena is an electrifying experience that immerses fans in the passion and excitement of professional hockey. The arena, which opened in 2017, boasts a capacity of 19,515 and hosts a variety of entertainment, including concerts, family shows, and special events.

Seating

If you’re looking for some of the best views, you can find an unparalleled perspective in the sections behind the benches at mid-ice. The visitors take their place in front of Section 121, while Section 123 is situated behind the home team. The penalty box is in front of Section 109.

The Red Wings shoot twice at the goal on the south side of the building, with Sections 115–116 right behind the net. If you’d like to keep your ticket price on the low side, try Sections 218–220 for a higher version of the same views.

On the opposite side of the ice, the party is in sections 201–204 in front of the Drink Rail. These are some of the most budget-friendly seats in the building. The Mezzanine Level below offers a nice balance between luxury suites and cheap seats, and sections 10–12 and 27–29 are at center court.

The North End Club Seats are typically the most affordable tickets with club benefits, but if you’ve got money to spend for a unique view, the Gondola Boxes along the west wall near the roof are semi-private rooms that give guests a unique view of the ice—straight down and through glass.

Little Caesars Arena offers convenient parking, with several official lots, garages, and ramps located nearby. These include:

Ready for Your Red Wings Game?

As you walk through the doors of the Little Caesars Arena, you know you’re entering a hockey lover’s paradise. Everywhere you look, there are reminders of the Red Wings’ legacy, from two-story images of memorable moments to the giant wings that adorn the walls.

Music beckons you into the bowl, and as your eyes move around the building, all you can see is red. Suddenly, the lights go out. People begin to stir, their murmurs echoing through the rafters. Red and blue spotlights shoot from the ceiling and the audience roars.

A countdown on the big screen lets everyone know the time is here. Following some fan highlights, a  booming voice welcomes spectators to the venue and begins the customary introductions. Flashes go off around the building as players emerge, floating across the ice like they were born on skates.

Finally, the face-off has arrived, and the action gets underway. You could almost feel every slap of a stick and the sound of the puck sliding across the ice is amplified. The complexity of hockey lies in the fact that it combines the gracefulness of a ballet and the intensity of a boxing match. Of course, it’s part of the appeal!

Every move is met with an appropriate reaction rippling through the crowd. Once in a while, you need to remind yourself to breathe. This is what you’ve been waiting for, and it’s better than you could have ever imagined! All it takes to experience it is giving in to temptation and buying those Red Wings tickets.
