About Creed
Creed was co-founded by lead vocalist Scott Stapp and guitarist Mark Tremonti. Joined by bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips, the band emerged from Tallahassee, Florida, in 1994 and swiftly gained recognition for their ear-catching fusion of post-grunge and hard rock.
Their band’s breakthrough came with the release of My Own Prison in 1997, but they reached the pinnacle of their success with Human Clay in 1999. The album achieved diamond certification, and the chart-topping single "With Arms Wide Open'' catapulted the group into the global spotlight.
Even through significant changes, including the departure of Marshall in 2000, a five-year breakup between 2004 and 2009, and a ten-year hiatus from 2013 until 2023, Creed's impact on the music scene is indisputable. With their signature sound, they have shaped the landscape of rock music for generations to come.
Now, as they embark on a new chapter with a recent comeback, fans eagerly anticipate what the future holds for this iconic band. Their resurgence promises a continuation of their musical evolution. Stay tuned as Creed continues to inspire and captivate audiences.

-
July 1999: Creed's set at Woodstock '99 elevated them to rock royalty status. Mark Tremonti once said the event felt intimidating due to their infancy as a band, but even amidst the chaos of the festival, they maximized the opportunity. The show remains a highlight of their career.
-
November 2001: In a halftime performance at the NFL Thanksgiving Classic between the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos, Creed was at their peak. With Scott Stapp sporting a custom jersey, they impressed the enthusiastic crowd with "Higher," "My Sacrifice," and "Don’t Stop Dancing.”
-
February 2002: At the closing ceremony of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, amid a star-studded lineup including Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, and others, Creed captivated the international audience with their signature sound.
-
September 2009: The band’s concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Woodlands, Texas, was recorded for the "Creed Live" DVD. Fans were treated to their entire catalog, including their new single "Overcome.”
-
September 2023: After announcing their “Summer of ‘99 Tour,” Creed took the stage at the Woodstock Fair. Seeing Scott Stapp in good health increased the excitement felt by fans about upcoming concerts with 3 Doors Down, Mammoth WVH, and Finger Eleven.
