Its distinctive cobalt blue exterior and pyramid design make it an architectural marvel on the university’s campus in California. His number (30) was retired by the Blazers in 2008.

• Craig Hodges (1978–1982): First-Team All-PCAA and known for his long-range shooting, Hodges was drafted by the Clippers in 1982. He won the NBA Three-Point Contest three years in a row (1990–1992) and played a crucial role in the Chicago Bulls' first two championships. As a special assistant coach, he helped Phil Jackson lead the Lakers to back-to-back titles in 2009 and 2010.

• Lucious Harris (1989–1993): Harris was a two-time First-Team All-Big West selection at Long Beach State, known for both his scoring prowess and defensive capabilities. Drafted into the NBA by the Dallas Mavericks, he spent three seasons with the franchise and enjoyed a 12-year career in the league. During his time with the New Jersey Nets, he reached the NBA Finals twice. 

• Bryon Russell (1990–1993): Russell was a renowned defender selected by the Utah Jazz in the 1993 draft. He played a key role in Utah’s 1997 and 1998 Finals appearances, recognized for his three-point shooting and defensive assignments against some of the league's best players. After 14 years in the NBA, he became an International Basketball Association All-Star and Champion.

• James Ennis III (2011–2013): After starting college at Oxnard and Ventura, Ennis transferred to Long Beach State, where he became a First-Team All-Big West honoree and the 2013 Player of the Year. The Atlanta Hawks selected him in the 2013 NBA Draft, but he was subsequently traded to the Miami Heat. He has since split his playing time between several NBA and overseas teams.
